Open Letter to my Representatives

If these two bills pass, our country, as we know it, will be destroyed. What people fought and died for will now be in vain. There is a part of me, that really cannot believe this is happening, I am astounded. Even more, I am astounded that the people who have been elected to represent us, completely ignore the wishes of the people they are representing and are making decisions based on personal, party and corporate preferences. Even more astounding; with the passage of these bills, that will transform our "free" country, spits in the face of all those before us, who gave their lives to keep our country free and safe from tyranny.
The United States Senate and Congress is made up of people elected to serve as representatives of the people who elected them. The elected official is not there to represent a party, a president or a special group, but only to represent the people of his or her state and/or district. Any other action, any other vote, listening to any other voice, other than the voice of the people being represented, is an act of treason against the voters who elected the representative. While we cannot convict our representatives of treason, we can convictt, with our vote. For too long, our representatives have committed the act of treason against the very people who have put them in office. We are now no longer willing to sit by and allow this. You sir, have committed treason against the people who gave you their most valuable offering, their vote. You have ignored this gift. You have not respected the gift, given to you. Your behavior has exhibited your lack of understanding of our gift and has shown that you place no value on the gift of our vote. You sir, have forgotten the very basic premise, the very foundation of the honor that was bestowed on you. Because of this, do not act surprised when you do not return to Washington D.C. You made a choice. You could have followed the guidance of the people who gave you their vote. You could have decided to stand as a leader, to make a stand for what is right, you could have made a stand against the worst form of tyranny, treason against the American People. But you chose not to.We all understand that standing for right, that making the right choice, regardless, can be difficult. That it can set you apart from others. However, that is exactly what we want are representatives to do. That is why we gave you our vote, to do right, to always protect our country and to stand firm, regardless of the consequences. You sir, have failed. Having a choice, I would rather be an outcast, than to be remembered as one who participated in the destruction of the values and premises of the greatest nation in the world. But, again, you made a choice.--
